Media Planning Skills Bootcamps

WYK’s Media Planning Skills Bootcamps are funded by the Greater London Authority to support jobseekers and career changers to kickstart their career in media. It has been designed with employers and industry professionals to help you develop skills for entry-level Media Planning, Client Services/Client Leadership and Account Executive roles in media agencies.

Learn highly in-demand skills in areas such as TV, Out Of Home (OOH) and Print while mastering essential media planning and account executive skills.

Work on an industry-standard planning project - making sure you stand out to employers.

  • 9 weeks, full time (10am-4pm, Mon-Fri)

  • Hybrid format: remote with some in-person days

  • Taught by industry practitioners

ELIGIBILITY

As our programmes are funded, you will need to meet the following GLA eligibility criteria:

  • Aged 19+

  • Living in the Greater London Authority area

  • Right to work in the UK (Please note that Student Visas are not eligible)

  • Not in full time work or full time education

  • Have not previously started a Skills Bootcamp funded by the DfE since April 2026

Age Eligibility

WYK is a non-profit organisation with a focus on supporting underrepresented young people to upskill and access employment opportunities.

As a result of this focus, we cap our age eligibility at 40.

Media Fundamentals

We’ll teach you the essentials across a range of media channels, with a focus on TV, AV, OOH and DOOH, and print. Alongside this you’ll learn digital media basics.

Media Planning Focus

Develop essential media planning skills, learn how to plan campaigns, carry out audience research, and how to work with clients effectively.

Relevant Project Work

You’ll work on media planning projects designed to reflect real-life industry work, and to showcase your skills to employers.

Excel

Every media planner needs Excel skills! Our Excel training will ensure you have the spreadsheet essentials needed in the industry, as well as the confidence to use Excel for real-world tasks.

Industry Masterclasses

We bring in industry experts to run masterclasses on key industry topics and to share insights on what it’s like working in media.

Employability Support

We’ll make sure you complete the programme ready to apply for roles, with support on CVs, understanding industry roles and interview prep.
