AI & Automation for Business, block by block.
One business, nine blocks, more capable every week. Your team doesn't learn about AI. They build, ship and run real systems for your business, with Claude as their workbench from day one.
- Starts 9 November 2026, runs to 19 February 2027
- 60 guided learning hours over 12 weeks
- Mondays & Fridays 9am–11am online, plus three in-person days
Most small businesses aren't short of ambition. They're short of capacity. Your team is busy running the business, and nobody has the headspace to figure out which tools matter, how to use them properly, or where they'd actually make a difference.
This course gives them that headspace, with structure. Every learner works on a live process in your business, agreed with their line manager up front, and leaves with a system that's already running.
One AI stack, learned properly, used every week.
Rather than skimming twenty tools, your team goes deep on one. Claude is the backbone of every block: the assistant they draft and research with, Claude Code for building and deploying tools, reusable Skills for your brand voice and processes, and connectors into email, documents and team chat.
Everything is taught from first principles by people who build these systems for a living. No coding background needed.
Nine blocks. One business. More capable every week.
A single business runs through the whole course: the learner's own, or a case supplied by WYK. Each block adds a new capability, so the work compounds.
Kickoff: what is AI, what is an LLM
How large language models work, tokens and context, prompting fundamentals, and a first generative use: drafting something simple for the business with Claude.
Your AI environment
Claude versus Claude Code, and when to use each. Delegating tasks, using and creating reusable Skills, and connecting Claude to your email, documents and team chat.
Data and integrations
Databases, APIs, JSON and webhooks. Modelling data, reading API documentation, and a first automation: a form that writes to a database and sends a notification.
Build and ship a mini tool
A small, useful tool built end to end with Claude Code: a QR code generator, a news digest, an internal calculator. Spec before code, version control, deploying to a live URL, and what never goes into a repository.
Agents and automation tools
What an agent is, memory and context, and how agents connect to tools. Which automation platform for which job. Building and scheduling an agent, with human-in-the-loop approvals so nothing goes out without a check.
An operating system and a brain for your business
One system on your own database: the data model, CRM and tasks; then a client portal with login and permissions; finally a business brain holding your knowledge, processes and context, which the agents from block 05 work from.
Marketing week
Content at scale with a brand-voice Skill, repurposing one piece into many formats, SEO articles, scheduled campaign reporting and competitor monitoring.
Sales and productivity week
Lead enrichment and scoring, call transcript to proposal, automated follow-ups. Inbox triage, meeting notes into tasks, and scheduled tasks for the admin nobody wants to do.
Final project
Each learner scopes their own project, agreed with their employer, with feedback in small groups. Guided build clinics to unblock and review progress, then demo day: learners present their system to peers, trainers and employers.
Two live sessions a week. Three days together in person.
9am–11am, in nine of the twelve weeks. Part theory and live demo, part hands-on build with Q&A. Sessions are recorded for catch-up.
In three weeks, the online sessions are replaced by a full day together: an onboarding lab, a mid-point build day and demo day, each with a one-hour virtual drop-in that week.
A fixed timetable shared up front so you can plan cover. Christmas break from 18 December, back on 11 January. 60 guided learning hours in total.
You stay in the loop, and the work stays in your business.
How you're involved
An AI Adoption Brief, agreed between each learner and their line manager: the live process they'll work on and the outcome you expect.
Line managers are invited to the mid-point build day and demo day.
A fortnightly check-in between WYK and a named contact at your business, throughout the programme.
What you get back

FAQs
Who is eligible?+
Learners need to be 19+, living or working in one of our funded areas, with the right to work in the UK, not in full-time education, and to have lived in England for at least the last three years. Learners may undertake one Skills Bootcamp per funding year. Not sure? Register your interest and we'll check.
What is the time commitment?+
60 guided learning hours over 12 weeks, 9 November 2026 to 19 February 2027, with a Christmas break from 18 December to 11 January. Nine weeks have two live online sessions, Mondays and Fridays 9am–11am. The other three weeks each have a full in-person day plus a one-hour virtual drop-in.
Is it online or in person?+
Both. The Monday and Friday sessions are live online and recorded for catch-up. The onboarding lab, mid-point build day and demo day are full days in person, at a venue in your area.
What will it cost us?+
SMEs contribute 10% of the course cost per employee (£300), large employers 30% (£900). Self-employed learners are fully funded. No cost is passed to learners.
Why Claude?+
Going deep on one capable stack beats skimming many. Claude covers drafting and research, building and deploying tools with Claude Code, reusable Skills and connectors to the tools your team already uses, so everything learners build in one block carries into the next.
Are there any other costs?+
No. If a learner doesn't already have a Claude subscription, WYK pays for it for the course. Version control, deployment and database accounts all use free tiers, set up together in the onboarding lab.
Do my staff need any coding or AI experience?+
No. Everything is taught from first principles, and the first two blocks start from what an LLM is.
Can I enrol more than one person?+
Yes. Many businesses enrol several team members so they can build on the same business systems together.
Is 1:1 support available?+
Yes, on request: two 30-minute mentoring sessions per learner, one to lock the final project scope and one to unblock the build.
